Fiber Reinforcement
Fiber reinforced concrete contains synthetic, polypropylene fibers designed to significantly reduce and often eliminate plastic shrinkage cracking. Plastic shrinkage cracks appear in the surface of fresh concrete soon after it is placed and while it is still plastic. These unsightly cracks occur because of rapid loss of water from the surface on concrete before it has set. Fibers increase concrete durability and abrasion resistance. Fibers are great in flatwork and curb and gutter pours.
